Without even considering color issues (G is the best of the middle class, when you get into the range of prices jump DEF) and clarity (which is crucial, and you have not mentioned), I can say that a pear-shaped stone is less desirable and therefore more difficult to sell. The round brilliant cut is by far the most popular and easiest to sell. It is absolutely necessary to know clearly. If you can get a GIA-certified stones of this size, but pear-shaped, with a clarity of VS2, that would be theft. But if a stone quality, do not touch. A 0.79 carat SI1 would be a pretty good buy at $ 250, but no doubt they want the certified paperwork, not the word of someone. The scale GIA cut applies only to round stones, so the quality of cut is a minor problem. If the color and clarity are GIA certified, the court is not a problem at all a pear.
